PA'...s law is worse
than WV. I am not legal there even if I turn them OFF, because of the way it's
worded. SO, this time,
if magistrate (they have sort of rubber stamp
kangaroo courts, with NO ONE there AT ALL, except you, officer, and 'judge')
if they again pretend PA is not part of the USA,
and the Constitution does not apply, I am going to obey the LETTER
of their law, and on the main St. in Carlisle, PA, I am going to
STRIP. The Freedom Van, that is. In front of God and everybody,
I will pull every single light off of it. I
counted the other night, there are 17 solar lights on the roof alone. All the
have to come off, as well as most of the stuff
on the roof. You should know, I do this all the time, changing it from Christmas
stuff to Valentines' etc. But I've never done it
in public before, and it does look really awful. I will have big signs on both
saying that this award winning art car is
appearing in this condition because The People's Republic of Pennsylvania is
my Constitutional rights again. I will run it up
to the Statehouse and take pics there, too. It will be on actual Memorial Day (perfect!),
so I will have the big Memorial day signs on the
roof - the ones with all the ROWS OF CROSSES of those who died for our
FREEDOM. They will have to come DOWN, because
there are lights all over that. I've already ordered 1,000 flags to give away.
Also, it will be a couple of days after my youngest son
is going to start boot camp. He is going off to be a Marine.
I'll be in Carlisle,
fighting for our First Amendment. Here is a pic
of Freedom Van in St. Patrick's day stuff, which I will be leaving
on this year to take it in the Houston Art Car Parade
Mother's Day weekend.
Here are a couple more quick pics, so you can
get a better idea what this means.
The officer this time was very nice, and polite,
I almost feel a bit bad to do this to him. But, he does not seem to
realize the deeper issue.
If he will refuse to ignore some obvious (and
COMPLETELY HARMLESS) excercise of our First Amendment, what WILL he do (nice or
he gets an order to
violate some more important rights? And, IMO, there really isn't anything
more important than Freedom of
There are some AS
important, but not more. No matter what happens, we MUST be able to
communicate with each
other. PA's law prohibits
ALL 'ornamental lighting'
which is not available as 'original equipment'. IMO, this also violates my
FOURTH Amendment (and probably
rights. That is why
I have been excercising civil disobedience for the past two years, every time I
In a country where the 'supreme court' has ruled
that burning the American flag is Constitutionally protected FREEDOM OF SPEECH,
not going to get me to give up my green
shamrocks at St. Pat's day, nor my pink Valentine lights - let alone Christmas
The WHOLE point of ANYTHING 'ornamental' is
someone's FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION. On top of that, last time I checked, The
of Pennsylvania does NOT own either of my
vans. They have no right to tell me what I may have on them. I am
about a third of the way through my
EIGHTH YEAR of this. I have averaged
52,000 miles/year since I started this, and was averaging about 40,000 miles/per
year before that.
Freedom ISN'T free, and I WON'T quit
fighting. It IS WORTH the cost.
Oh, here is my Memorial Day sign, which will go
over George Washington on the roof, and it will have to come down with that sign
(which has lights ALL over it), so I can be
'legal' in The People's Republic of
I'll try to get more pics up here. I have
some nice ones from the parade, plus more Statehouses. I also have a couple
of nice night pics in front of the Capitol building in Washington DC I took
when I went to Alexandria a couple of weeks ago, and got a harassment parking
ticket at Mt. Vernon thrown out.
Here are the pics of Freedom Van I took in front of
the PA Statehouse, about an HOUR before I got this ticket.
BTW, I have NEVER yet been harassed in Harrisburg,
the state capitol. BOTH tickets were on I81, south of there.
The first one was only 3 miles from the Maryland
state line, and that same cop actually chased me several miles
INTO MARYLAND, to give me a SECOND ticket for the
SAME THING (pink valentine's lights).
Someone has said, don't curse the darkness, LIGHT A
'This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine'
